Remediation of the Daschle Suite Office Building to Begin

(Washington, DC) The United States Capitol Police announced today that the remediation of offices of Senator Daschle in the Hart Senate Office Building will begin at approximately 6 pm on Friday, November 30, 2001

In order to allow for the operation, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 4 pm and will remain closed for at least 24 hours.

  • Maryland Avenue, NE, between Constitution Avenue and 3rd Street
  • Constitution Avenue, NE, between 1st and 3rd Streets
  • 2nd Street, NE, between Constitution Avenue and D Street
  • 1st Street, NE, between Constitution Avenue and D Street

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Pedestrian access will be permitted on the sidewalks across from the building.

The designated press area will be located on the northeast corner of 2nd and C Streets, NE. No press conference is planned.
