The East Friendship Baptist Church presents Serve Day 2018.  At this community event there will be FREE medical and health screenings and information, children's activities, music, food, opportunities to learn how you can be of service to members of the community and more! Come by the DC HSEMA booth to receive information and handy resources you can use to prepare for emergencies and disasters before they happen.  

Park Morton Apartment Complex Soca Fest Block Party

Park Morton Apartments is hosting the Soca Fest Block Party! This family affair promises a good time. There will be music, dancing, singing, food, a moon bounce and even a Wacky Water Sprinkler for the Tiny Tots under age 4.  DC HSEMA will join the party by being there to share information on steps you can take to prepare yourself, your family and even your neighbors for all-hazards.  

Office of Disability Rights Disaster Preparedness Kick Off

The District of Columbia Office of Disability Rights is excited to host their Disaster Preparedness Series Kick Off for those with disabilities or access and functional needs.  Come out and learn from DC HSEMA staff what you can do if you find yourself in an emergency or disaster situation, how to build a disaster preparedness kit and how to make an emergency plan tailored just for you! Pet Preparedness Community Outreach

June is National Pet Preparedness Month! DC HSEMA is celebrating this important initiative by spearheading an outreach and social media campaign called Pet Prepawedness.  To help spread the word about the importance of including your pets in your emergency plan, HSEMA is conducting a Community Outreach Pop Up in Ward 2.  If HSEMA finds you out and about with your pet, you will receive a ReadyDC bag containing Pet Prepawedness treats.
