The Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THE ARC) Washington DC is hosting a Resource ESA grand families support group. DC HSEMA is participating by sharing a hazards emergency preparedness workshop. This event is not open to the public.

DC HSEMA personnel will be on-site sharing emergency preparedness tips designed to prepare seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with access and functional needs for emergencies and disasters. Beat the Streets 2017 is a day of celebration for District residents! MPD, in collaboration with the local government, non-profit agencies, and other local partners, invite residents throughout the District to come out for Beat the Streets to help dispel violence, improve community relations and encourage citizens to live peacefully. Housing Opportunities Unlimited, Inc. hosts an emergency preparedness training for residents at Sibley Plaza. DC HSEMA will present and share written materials about planning before a disaster; creating family emergency plans and kits; the HSEMA smartphone app, emergency alerts, and reconnecting with family following a disaster. DC HSEMA personnel will be on-site sharing emergency preparedness tips designed to prepare seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with access and functional needs for emergencies and disasters. The DC Office on Aging is hosting the Mayor’s 6th Annual Senior Symposium. This year’s theme, “Healthy Living. Healthy Hearts. Healthy Homes.” includes wide-ranging topics on what it means to live well. The symposium will include workshops on a variety of topics relevant to seniors in the District. These topics include those related to healthcare, technology, elder justice, housing, senior villages, caregivers support, accessing government resources, long-term care planning, emergency preparedness and more!
