To mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Mayor Muriel Bowser issued Mayor’s Order 2020-053 requiring the temporary closure of the on-site operation of all non-essential businesses. The Order is effective March 25, 2020, at 10:00 p.m., through April 24, 2020.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – Today, several hours after Mayor Bowser met with faith leaders from around the District to discuss ways the faith community can help prevent hate crimes and reduce gun violence, the Bowser Administration convened the inaugural meeting of the Interfaith Preparedness and Advisory Group (IPAG) – a joint effort to bring together the Mayor’s Office of Religious Affairs (MORA), the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and the District’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) to facilitate collaboration with the District’s faith-based communit
The IPAG provides a platform for faith-based organizations to exchange information with security and preparedness professionals on threats, vulnerabilities, best security practices, and protective measures related to the safety and security of congregations and facilities.
