The South West Emergency Preparedness Task Force, in collaboration with the Koshland Science Museum, is hosting a free ""Extreme Event"" disaster preparedness exercise for those who live in SW, DC! Extreme Event is an in-person role-playing game that gives participants a taste of what it takes to build community resilience in the face of disaster. Players work together to make decisions and solve problems during an engaging, fast-paced disaster simulation. The scenario for this exercise will be a flood scenario. DC HSEMA is invited to provide emergency preparedness training.
The DC Office on Aging, in partnership with DC HSEMA and the Samuel J. Simmons National Caucus & Center on Black Aging, Inc. (NCBA) Estates, is hosting a community health and wellness fair for residents where HSEMA will provide all-hazards emergency preparedness information.
